NEW YORK, March 20, 2019 – Mire Cardenas, Global Head of Client Services for Axioma, has been named Risk Professional of the Year in the Women in Technology & Data Awards hosted by WatersTechnology. Across 26 categories, these annual awards aim to recognize and foster female talent holding technology and data roles within capital markets.
“I’m honored to have received this accolade especially against such a strong field of peers,” said Cardenas. “When I first started my career over ten years ago, it was pretty unusual to see a woman working in analytics. Although women are still underrepresented, that is definitely changing and the pace of progress is helped by companies like Axioma that value diversity of thought and support the brightest talent – irrespective of gender.”
In her role at the leading global enterprise risk management, portfolio management and regulatory reporting solutions company, Cardenas and her team work to create a globally consistent client experience and to develop the infrastructure needed to service those clients.
Cardenas joined Axioma from Barclays POINT in 2017, having spent five years at MSCI. She made an immediate impact at Axioma, playing a key role in the delivery of Multi Asset and Fixed Income custom risk models.
Looking ahead, Cardenas is focused on supporting axiomaBlueTM, the firm’s cloud-based, customizable environment which enables investment managers to cost-efficiently create, implement and scale unique investment strategies.
“At Axioma, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce,” said Jacqueline Gaillard, Global Head of HR & Talent Management. “We truly believe that having a diversity of perspectives results in not only a better environment for our employees but a better offering for our clients. We are proud of this well-deserved recognition for Mire, who is a great fit and strong contributor to the culture of Axioma.”
