He will disengage from operational activities and hand over his responsibilities as of September 1, 2018. Holger Wohlenberg, who is already heading Deutsche Boerse’s Data & Index businesses on a broader segment level, will take over responsibility for Deutsche Boerse’s Index Services ad interim. The position of CEO of STOXX Ltd. will be taken over ad interim by Steffen Hermanns, currently Chief Operating Officer of STOXX.

Matteo Andreetto leaves the company at his own request and amicably in order to pursue new challenges on the buy side, joining one of the world’s largest asset managers as head of a business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Holger Wohlenberg, Managing Director at Deutsche Boerse Market Data + Services , said: “Matteo Andreetto has been a driving force behind the development of STOXX’s index business throughout his tenure. His dedication to clients’ success has opened new markets for STOXX and led us to new ideas and innovations. We would like to thank him for his tremendous commitment and wish him continued success for the future.”

Matteo Andreetto was appointed Head of Index Services and CEO of STOXX in 2016. Before, he had acted as Global Head of Sales and Asset Owners Coverage at STOXX since 2014. In his previous roles at various investment banks, Matteo was working closely with and servicing buy-side clients.

Holger Wohlenberg became Managing Director of Deutsche Boerse in July 2004. He is responsible for the Group’s Data & Index business. He joined from Deutsche Bank where he headed Technology Investment Banking. He began his career at McKinsey & Company where he focused on advising technology, network and media clients.

Steffen Hermanns joined STOXX as Chief Operating Officer in March 2016. Before that, he was the Chief Information Officer at the Munich-based, state-owned run-down agency FMS-WM for four years. Prior roles included research at Ericsson, manager at Accenture, and ten years as senior IT manager of Deutsche Boerse Systems.
