Zug (September 20, 2021) – Today, Qontigo announced the results of the annual review of the STOXX® Global ESG Leaders Index, which tracks the leading companies with respect to environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.

The STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index contains those companies that score highest with regards to ESG indicators provided by ESG research and data provider Sustainalytics, after removing businesses in breach of global standards and those involved with controversial weapons. Each of the three E-S-G categories has its own index. The STOXX® Global ESG Environmental Leaders, STOXX® Global ESG Social Leaders and STOXX® Global ESG Governance Leaders indices include leading companies in the respective category and those that range above average in the other two. The combination of all components in the specialized indices form the basis of the overall STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index.
After the review, the main index now comprises 410 constituents. A total of 81 stocks have been added, while 66 companies are no longer part of the index. In total, 270 companies are headquartered in Europe; 79 companies are based in North America; and 61 companies are located in Asia/Pacific. All changes are effective as of today.
The following overview lists the number of companies included in the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index by country. A more detailed report is available upon request.
